ETHEREUM DENCUN UPGRADE IS LIVE!
EIP-4844 introduces a new type of transaction known as blobs, that aim to improve Ethereum's data availability (DA) capability and lower gas fees for users.
Dencun is the first Ethereum hard fork since the Shapella upgrade early last year.
Dencun introduces many improvements, but most excitingly, EIP-4844.
EIP-4844 introduces a new type of transaction known as blobs, that aim to improve Ethereum's data availability (DA) capability.
Using blobs, optimistic rollups including Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base will be able to greatly reduce their rollup settlement fees.
Implications for Account Abstraction: Combined with account abstraction (ERC-4337) and modular accounts (ERC-6900), Dencun opens up a brand new era of mainstream crypto applications and user-friendly onboarding experiences.
To the EF researchers, EIP authors, validator teams, and countless individual contributors who put this together, we salute you 🫡

There are no required actions for developers building on Alchemy. All Alchemy nodes have been updated to support Dencun.
